The Ecology Book is one in a series of books titled Wonders of Creation. It is a multi-age book as well. The book has three levels of interaction. Level one being for 5th and 6th grades, level two being for 7th and 8th grades and level three being for 9th grade and up. Each level has it’s own text and activities. There is also a free study guide for the book. This to me is the best part. The study guide is a workbook and key and each book in the series has this downloadable study guide.
The guide goes along with the book. There are questions, words to know, and even additional activities. It also includes an answer key for the workbook. I really felt the study guide helped pull it all together for educational use…such as in a homeschool. The book itself is educational and worthwhile, but the study guide just makes it even better.
I should mention this is a Christian based ecology book. Meaning it follows the principles of God and the Bible. For me that just gave it more credibility. I love that it follows the Christian beliefs.
I really found the book to be a nice addition to our homeschool and will be purchasing the rest of the series as well.
Please check out the book and others in the series at NLPG.com.

Little Pilgrim’s Progress is a simplified version of Pilgrim’s Progress for young readers. It is a wonderful read for children 6-12 years old.
The story is about one little pilgrims journey through the Christian life. He meets other pilgrims on the way and some choose to follow him. The story is full of adventure as the pilgrims each make their way through life. They escape the Wicked Prince and the city to start their journey to the King. The Shining Ones tell them when it is their turn to cross the dark river to the Celestial Kingdom to be with the King.
Boogerhead is going to love this book. It is written to her understanding and is just an adventurous fun story. I love that it is an allegory to the Christian life and journey. I can’t wait to read it to her.
I could say so much more, but I do not want to give the whole story away. I recommend this book for anyone looking to help their children understand the Christian life in an easy to understand but fun format. This is a wonderful book and I hope you all will read it for yourselves.

Boogerhead has been using ABC Mouse for a little over a month now. We started halfway through the kindergarten level. This is their last level.
Boogerhead loved it at first. It is really cute and very educational. They can follow a learning path or play games. The learning path is cute. They do a set number of activities before they move on. They color, do puzzles, answer questions and so on. There are even printables for you to print out. However, after a month she tired of the repetition.
She did learn some new things…such as less and more. She also learned how to do puzzles. But she quickly grew tired of the site.
I will say that for younger children, I can see the benefit of the site. A friend’s two year old loves ABC Mouse. Every child is different. Mine got bored. But, this is a wonderful educational site. I recommend it for 4 and under….maybe 5 at most.
Please remember….this was our experience and not lack on ABC Mouse’s part. It is overall a great site and if Boogerhead were younger she would probably have gotten more use out of it. Try it out with your child and make your own decision.

This book is a reprint of Charles Spugeon’s originally printed in 1896.
The book is advice for those seeking Christ as the title implies. Charles Spurgeon was a pastor and studied God’s word. This is his insights into what keeps us from an abundant life in Christ. He questions if the thing that keeps us from this life is ourselves.
I don’t have a whole lot to say on this book. I found it a bit boring at first, but continued to read. After a bit I became interested and found myself thinking more about the insights and advice of Spurgeon. The book is a wonderful book for anyone seeking a more involved life in Christ. It really answered the question of why I can’t seem to grow in my faith. For me, it was eye opening and insightful. I really think that anyone who reads this book will get something from it. Maybe it will answer your questions?

ABOUT the AUTHOR:

Bodie attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale (SIUC) and received a BS and MS in mechanical engineering. His specialty was a subset of mechanical engineering based in advanced materials processing, particularly starting powders.
He conducted research for his master’s degree through a grant from Lockheed Martin and developed a New Method of Production of Submicron Titanium Diboride. The new process was able to make titanium diboride cheaper, faster and with higher quality.
He was the president of one of the few Christian RSOs (Registered Student Organizations) called Christians Unlimited, and was also an officer in the student chapter of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
After earning his master’s degree, he accepted a position of Visiting Instructor at SIUC. He was only 24 years old when he began teaching undergraduate engineering courses at the university.
After working for SIUC for a couple of years, Bodie accepted a position as a test engineer through Aerotek Engineering to work for Caterpillar Inc. in Peoria, Illinois.
While working at Caterpillar, he taught apologetics to junior high and high school students at his local church, which was a natural outcome considering his love for science, history, and theology. He did this until taking a position with Answers in Genesis in 2003. Currently, Bodie is a speaker, writer, and researcher on a host of topics, including fall of Satan.
THE BOOK:
The book addresses the many controversies of the biblical account of Babel. I really got into the book. I loved the author’s way of leading you to the facts and not just the story we know. While, I am not sure I believe everything I have read, I am truly intrigued by Brodie’s research and detail. I found the research to be believable and interesting. The book goes into a detailed account of of where the tower and Babel possibly were located as well as a detailed account of the building and what not of the tower. It really had me thinking about my ancestors and how they came to be after the episode at the tower. It makes me curious to understand God’s word more. It is a great read. It really is one of those hard to describe books! You must read it for yourself.

We received lots of wonderful products from Yves Rocher for review. I will review each product group by its release date.
For April we have Grand Rouge….some brilliant colored lipsticks, new Automatic Lip LIner in six shades, and Nail Laquer in three new shades.

The Grand Rouge lipsticks are just beautiful. Not only is it part of the botanical line, but it lasts up to six hours! The colors are beutiful and bright. We actually used it on Boogerhead for her ballet recital and it stayed brilliant the whole three hours.

The Automatic Lip Liners are also brilliantly colored and long lasting. They are also part of the botanicals line.

The Nail Laquer is coming in three new shades.

For May we have Neroli.I am typically not a perfume person, but I love this scent. It is light and flowery without overpowering the senses. it is made from the Bitter Orange leaves, blossom, and fruit. i was able to review the perfume, body wash , and lotion. All three are very light in scent and not overpowering.

For June we have Men Fresh. This is a wonderful men’s line. We received after shave, shave gel, face wash, and a moisturizer. Dad loved them all. He said the after shave made his skin all soft and fresh. I loved the smell. Very manly.

I received Calming Formula in chewable form for medium to large dogs. The Calming Formula contains a combination of nutrients that support balanced behavior, relaxation, and reduced hyperactivity. They come in a chew or chewable tablet form in a tasty poultry liver flavor. I tested them on my medium sized lab.
TThey can be taken daily for hyper dogs like mine or given just in stressful situations such as the vet, car rides, or fireworks.
The chews smell horrible to me but my lab loves them. She thinks they are a treat, so they are super easy to get her to take. I didn’t notice any changes in her, but we have only been using the chews a short time. I have also tried half a chew on my small hyper chihuahua with some decent results.
I feel the chews would work on my small dog if I gave it to him every day over time. They are not expensive and are worth a try if you have a stressed or hyper dog.
For more information or to order your own please visit their website.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
